To 10 Larsen Christmas Traditions

1. Mortenson Family Christmas Eve Celebration

Our good friends host a wonderful Christmas Eve Party with 'Dinner in Bethlehem' where we eat cheeses, meats, and fruits all under candlelight on blankets. The children do the nativity with costumes and we read the account of Christ's birth from the scriptures. Dylan memorized the Night Before Christmas and Isaac read poems from his grandpa's book. All of our family is looking forward to this tradition more than any other tradition we do. Thanks Mortenson's for such wonderful memories! (we will miss the Brown's this year)
2. Peaks Nursery Home Caroling
Autumn, Bruce and I have been working
all month to go caroling with all our closet friends. We have been listening to Christmas music since Thanksgiving. Autumn and Bruce have been singing Christmas tunes all the day long. When we actually went caroling at the Peaks Bruce was singing his heart out it was so cute!


3. Goodman Electric Christmas Party
Isaac's work always throws a Christmas party but families have never been invited, until this year. We were so delighted to go and meet all Daddy's coworkers. The kids even got a personal gift from Santa! Isaac received his favorite gift of the year, a Goodman jacket.

4. Ornaments for the tree

Every year we have gotten the kids ornaments for the tree but this year we bought our first stockings. Stockings were a big part of Isaac's Christmas traditions growing up so I am excited to continue those traditions.

5. The Story of Christmas

This is a book that for the sake of a bedtime story fills in the blanks of the Christmas story.

Autumn and Bruce get to place the little story books on the tree as ornaments.

6. Christmas treats.

Growing up my mom made plates of cookies for neighbors and friends for Christmas.

I have carried on the tradition for the past seven years until this year. For the sake of being different we did snack jars instead.

Sometimes the snow doesn't fall when we want it to so we create our own weather patterns and let the fan blow our snowflakes around.

8.Lights

Growing up it was my job to hang the lights outside. We seem to have misplaced most of our extension cords so this year we are limited to the one length of cord to light the porch.

9. Larsen men cooking Christmas Breakfast

Mostly because I don't have to and Isaac is a very good cook.

10.Total surprises

I am big into having surprises. So much so that I almost can't contain myself to keep the surprises a surprise.
